There have been few happy endings for long-suffering Boston Red
Sox fans to speak of over the course of the past century. From
Ruth's banishment to the Big Apple, to Dent's illogical three-run
pop-up, to Buckner's blunder, and beyond, loyal Sox fans have
endured consecutive life sentences of near misses and heartbreak.
Nobody understands that predicament better or experiences that
pain deeper than the Sox's own former left-hander and continued
left- winger, the "Spaceman", Bill Lee.
In a similar vein as Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mao Tse-tung's
landmark Little Red Book of the late sixties, Lee's Little Red
(Sox) Book promises to invoke something of a cultural revolution
amongs Red Sox fans, to provide guidance, security, hope, and
pride in the face of continued persecution.
