There have been few happy endings for long-suffering Boston Red Sox fans to speak of over the course of the past century. From Ruth's banishment to the Big Apple, to Dent's illogical three-run pop-up, to Buckner's blunder, and beyond, loyal Sox fans have endured consecutive life sentences of near misses and heartbreak. Nobody understands that predicament better or experiences that pain deeper than the Sox's own former left-hander and continued left- winger, the "Spaceman", Bill Lee.
